Service
As a part of a Jesuit institution, Kappa Eta strives to live out the Jesuit values of serving the people in our community by regularly participating in both Rockhurst University and community service projects. Beyond Zeta service, Kappa Eta’s members learn the nobility of serving by understanding the value of service as part of our daily lives by performing regular service at many local organizations including Amethyst Place, the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge, Harvesters, Habitat for Humanity, KC Wildlands, Hospitality House, the Plaza Art Fair, Children’s Mercy Hospital, and even tutoring students at surrounding schools. We also fulfill our call to service through philanthropy events such as Cones for a Cure, Think Pink Week, and the Making Strides Walk all in support of breast cancer. Many members have gone above and beyond by attended a domestic or international service trip through Rockhurst University (25%) or are signed up to attend one this year (10%). Service is more than a requirement to us. Instead, it is privilege and opportunity to use our God-given gifts and unique talents to enrich the lives of those around us every day.
